The Doctorate Program proposed project focuses on the development of structured methods and techniques that allow for large systems and complex to be built by small, empowered teams. Space problem is significant and include business, architecture, process and organizational aspects. Special focus of this project will be agreed between doctoral students, industrial partners and supervisors in the context of the steering committee of the software center.
Required qualifications
Doctorate Program industry experience is credited as one of the goals of the Software Center is to produce results that academic excellence and to improve the competitive position of industry partners Software Center through a significant and measurable increase in their software engineering capabilities.
Applicants must have a Master's Degree or related (Sv. civilingenjörsexamen) in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related discipline (you may apply even if you can not possibly have completed your degree, but wish to do so before starting position). As for all the PhD studies, a genuine interest and curiosity in terms of subject and analytical skills and good communication, both verbally and literally, is required. Successful candidate must have a deep interest in software engineering and software and system architecture. Furthermore, because the research involves the development of architectural models and analytical techniques, good programming skills are essential.Doctorate Program Knowledge of Swedish is not a prerequisite for applying since English is our working language for research at Chalmers as well as at the working language at the industry partners of the Software Center. Also, we publish internationally in English. At Chalmers, half of our researchers and PhD students are native Swedes; the rest come from more than 30 different countries.
Doctorate Program It is highly recommended that you include or e-mail letters of recommendation: we typically get a large number of applications, and it is simply not feasible for us to request individual letters. It is essential that the application includes all relevant work such as theses and articles that you have authored or co-authored.
